What makes a mortgage lender? Experience, service, and a good reputation for starters. But there is so much more. She has to be honest and detailed, and most importantly, your friend. Roll all of these up into one and add tenacious and compassionate and you get Tiare Fullerton. All the reasons necessary to refer her to your friends, family, or clients who are considering buying a home, or your neighbor looking to re-fi.
Tiare Fullerton is this person. Ninety-seven percent of her clients are referrals – a compliment within itself! Tiare quickly becomes the Realtor’s loan advisor by building trust in her Realtor working relationships. because she has extraordinary industry knowledge, is a creative problem solver, believes in doing it the right way the first time, and, above all else, she cares. Realtors know that they can count on Tiare to help their clients close on their home purchases with as little stress as possible. Tiare states,
“Will it be stress-free? Not quite, but this is mortgage-lending in the 21st century. I reduce the stress as much as possible by walking you through the process, step-by-step so you are informed with no surprises.”
Unique among loan officers, once the home closes, Tiare remains in touch, always informing and educating about loans and what may help you down the road. Tiare didn’t just walk into this profession; she literally started on the ground floor of the industry in 1992. She worked in the accounting department of a nonprofit, a loan processor for IMC Funding Group, a vault teller for Bank of America in Japan, and a loan processor (knowing how to present the loan papers for an underwriter to review and approve) and senior loan officer for Bank of Hawaii; which all led up to being the Branch Manager of Mortgage Associates of Hawaii, A division of APMC.
Always continuing her education to better help her clients, Tiare is a member of the Brian Buffini’s Business Coaching Community. This association has given her the ability to develop a nationwide network of loan officers and Realtors to help families as they transition to or from Hawaii. Tiare specializes in home loans for Veterans, the self-employed, and the financially sophisticated clientele.
When asked what she likes best about her work, Tiare says,
“There is nothing more important than educating a client so they’re comfortable with their loan choices. Giving them every tool necessary to make educated, informed decisions is very important to me. And, most of all, I just love helping people.”
As an extra service, her way of saying thank you, Tiare enjoys helping military Veteran’s understand their financing options through her education classes. She also supports the Kokua Hawaii Foundation and supports Windward Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Professionally, she is the seated President of the Hawaii Association of Mortgage Brokers and is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers and a corporate member of the Kina`ole Chapter of Business Network International. She also sponsors the LJSA Chelsea Soccer Club and volunteers for the Junior Achievement Program.
She offers classes to newcomers on How to Live Hawaii – A Lifestyle class for making the most of your transition to your new home in Hawaii.
Tiare is big on families too. Although she was raised as an only child, in the last ten years she has been able to connect with four half-siblings, adding them to her growing family which includes her two sons, two cats, and a dog. When she is not spending time with her sons creating wonderful family memories, you will find her relaxing with a good book or, more likely, actively exploring the ocean while scuba diving and learning to surf.
It is fitting that Tiare Fullerton’s daily reminder lies in the words of Mahatma Ghandi,
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” ~ Mahatma Ghandi
